Few words about me

Hello, I’m Julia, an emerging artist based in London, UK. My creation practice uses drawing, painting, and sculpture as a means towards exploring my surroundings, nature and textures. Often working within a series, each piece is visceral and organic, a mix of observations, ideas and materials. I embrace different artistic mediums from drawing to heavily textured paintings and furniture decor.

New Series ‘Sculptural Hatching”

‘Sculptural Hatching’ is an ongoing series of acrylic and mixed media paintings. Originated in 2020 lockdown, the series explores lines and patterns on a sculptural level by using layers of filler paste.

Ink drawings

All of my work share the same peculiarity of details, texture and complexity. Particularly my ink drawings can be distinguished by intricate line work and a great variety of hatching patterns.

Online classes for kids

In collaboration with the German Artschool Gebertsbauer I offer online lessons currently set for February. The lessons will be held in English and demonstrate basic techniques for ink drawing.
Ink drawing describes the process of using pens to apply ink to a surface such as paper. One can use either a traditional dip pen, fountain pen, a marker pen, a brush or a bamboo stick. Several techniques of layering are used to create the necessary transitions in shading. These techniques include hatching, cross-hatching, random lines, and stippling
